Description: Storage and display of equipment outside of building for sales and service.

August 10, 2009
Mr. Giordano raised concerns about the poor condition of the site, specifically the scattering of wood boxes, lawn mowers, debris, etc along both Crompond and Old Crompond Rd.   There was discussion about the location of the dumpster in the front of the business and the possibility of relocating it to the rear.  The downside of this is that it will require the commercial garbage truck to travel through the residential neighborhood off of Old Crompond Rd.  There was also discussion of a missing fence along the south side of the property.  The applicant agreed that the site is an eyesore.   Mr. Tegeder will make a site visit and try to suggest ways to improve conditions.

The owner is seeking reapproval of a special use permit for the storage and display of equipment outside of building for sales and service.

When the applicant appeared before the board at an earlier date, the board expressed concern about the location of a dumpster in front of the property with debris outside the dumpster. Mr. Klaus noted that the dumpster would have to be relocated. The applicant said that he wanted feedback from the board before he made any decision on where to relocate the dumpster. One suggestion was to build an enclosure just inside the property's gate. The owner had no problem with this idea . The owner will take some pictures of the site and meet with the planning director before returning to a board work session.
